journey is a testament to perseverance, empathy, and the desire to create a workplace that feels more like family than a corporate office.
Humble Beginnings
Brooke Goff’s story begins in the small town of Hudson Falls, New York, a community that provided few opportunities for upward mobility. "I came from very, very poor beginnings," Goff recalls. "My dad was a janitor, my mom was a receptionist, and they had four kids, one of whom was autistic.
Her family struggled to make ends meet, and Goff's experiences growing up shaped her vision for the future. Despite these obstacles, Goff’s ambition was clear from a young age. "I was a little girl with a dream," she says, describing the resilience and determination that would guide her in the years ahead. "My upbringing created a lot of character, and that ultimately got me to where I am today."
A Legal Career and the Birth of a Business
Goff’s early desire to become a lawyer was fueled by a deep-seated desire to help people. Her road to law school was not an easy one. First-generation college students, especially those from low-income backgrounds, face many challenges—and Goff was no exception. But her persistence paid off. She was determined to attend law school despite the lack of financial and academic resources available to her.
After graduating college with a 4.0 GPA, Goff enrolled in law school, where she faced additional hurdles. She was waitlisted at her dream school but refused to accept defeat. Goff’s tenacity led her to personally confront the school’s dean, which eventually earned her a spot in the program. "There’s no next year for me," she told the dean. "It has to be now."
From Paralegal to Entrepeneur
After law school, Goff worked as a paralegal while continuing to build her career. However, she soon realized that she didn’t want to work for someone else. "I didn’t want to be stuck in a job where I wasn’t in control," she says. "I wanted to create a work environment that was more familial, where employees knew that someone was in their corner."
In a bold move, Goff quit her law firm and started her own practice from her kitchen table. "I hired an attorney and a paralegal, and I did what I had to do to make it work," she says. To pay her employees, Goff drove for Uber and Lyft, picking the brains of executives during long drives to airports. "I would take notes on everything they said about running a business, and I still use that knowledge to this day," she explains.
Overcoming Struggles: From Zero to Success
Goff’s journey to success was paved with sacrifices and setbacks. "I started with no money and no support," she says. "I didn’t have the luxury of having financially supportive parents. That was hard."
One of her biggest challenges came when she was building her law firm. For years, Goff didn’t take a paycheck, opting instead to reinvest every penny into marketing and growth. "I put my family, my money, and my time on the line," she recalls. "I saturated the market with television ads and billboards, and it cost a lot of money."
But the gamble paid off. Today, Goff’s firm is one of the leading personal injury practices in Connecticut, thanks in no small part to her unrelenting work ethic and willingness to take risks.
Brooke's Bites: A Unique Blend of Law and Fun
While Goff’s legal career took off, she found an unexpected passion in sharing her love for baking. The idea for Brooke’s Bites, a YouTube series blending legal advice and baking, came during the COVID-19 pandemic when she and her wife were stuck at home with their young son. "I started teaching him how to bake, and then I thought, why not share legal tips while baking?" Goff says.
What started as a simple idea grew into a popular YouTube series. "We filmed a pilot, and over a thousand people watched it," Goff recalls. "That was just the beginning."
As Brooke’s Bites gained popularity, Goff hired a professional film crew and began shooting segments with high-profile guests, including A-list celebrities.
The show is now shot in a newly renovated 17,000-square-foot corporate center that includes a state-of-the-art video production studio. The space, which features advanced television studio equipment and a full Thermador kitchen, allows Goff to continue producing Brooke’s Bites episodes with her celebrity guests.
Reinventing the Legal Industry: Creativity and Client-Centered Law
One of Goff’s most notable achievements has been her approach to personal injury law. Her practice has made a name for itself by focusing on respect, transparency, and accountability. "Your law firm should be a safe space, a space of respect, fairness, and honesty," she says. "In personal injury law, those values have been lost, but I’m here to bring them back."
Her innovative approach to marketing, particularly through humorous and memorable billboards featuring celebrities, has turned heads in the legal industry. "I wanted to do something different with my advertising," she explains. "People don’t want to see a lawyer just standing there saying, ‘I’m the best.’ They want something they’ll remember."

The Future: Expanding Responsibly and Growing the Brand
Looking to the future, Goff has plans for expansion but is committed to doing so responsibly. "I will only expand if it doesn’t take away from the level of client service we provide," she says. "It’s quality over quantity."
Her long-term vision includes growing her influence and continuing to innovate in the legal field. "I want to keep changing the way personal injury law is done, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and treating clients like they’re more than just cases."
Advice for the Next Generation
For those interested in following in her footsteps, Goff has words of wisdom. "Don’t just jump into starting a business," she advises. "Find a firm where you feel heard, where you are comfortable, and you like the culture. It's where you feel that the culture is great, where you feel that the boss actually sees you and the boss shows up every day. Find the place that values you for you. Set yourself up early with the right firm, and stay there. Stay at that firm where the culture speaks to you, where the benefits are good, where the pay is good, somewhere you can see yourself long-term. And then dig your heels in and become part of the solution. You need a team environment to succeed in this field and to be properly mentored. As far as being a lawyer, the tides have changed. Standards have never been higher. I'm appreciative of that to an extent.
Also understand that just because you're a lawyer, does not automatically mean that you are also a business owner. I did both. Running a business and being a lawyer are two very different things. If you want to be a lawyer, do you also want to own your own business? You have to make a choice. You eventually hit a crossroads where you have to choose the business over yourself. And I had to choose to run the business rather than being the lawyer all the time. So I do a little bit of both."
For Goff, the journey is far from over. With big plans for the future, she’s eager to continue shaping the legal landscape and inspiring the next generation of lawyers to follow their dreams—just as she did.
"I’m living my dream every day," Goff says. "And I want others to know that if you stay persistent, you can make yours come true too."
